A comprehensive, practice-based qualification for those seeking to develop the theoretical knowledge, evidence-based ethical practice, self-awareness, and confidence required to work effectively and collaboratively as a therapeutic counsellor. This course follows completion of a two-year Level 4 Diploma in Counselling.
Delivered across 38 weeks, the Diploma combines academic study, experiential group work, case-based learning, and structured supervision to prepare practitioners for real-world clinical practice. The curriculum moves progressively from foundational developmental theory through to more advanced clinical presentations, specialist populations, and professional practice – culminating in supervised case study work and a grounded understanding of how to use supervision to support a sustainable counselling career.
The course is grounded in the WICKET model of Mahmood Ahmad, which informs EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) practice throughout.
