
Qualification attained:
Certificate in Counselling Skills and the eligibility to progress to the Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, level 4 equivalent (NCPS accredited).
Hours required:
75 guided learning hours over 6 months at 10am until 1pm on a Tuesday, plus 2-3 hours per week private study and coursework (see below).
Other information:
This course has been developed for people who use counselling skills in their work or envisage incorporating them into their work and for people who want to work towards a full qualification in counselling. It is also suitable for people who may wish to gain skills for use in everyday life, thus learning and practising a range of skills.
There is a weekly reflective journal and an assessed counselling role play towards the end of the course.
On passing this course, graduates are given priority access to the accredited Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (NCPS).
